Who Are You Talking To?
I know you have heard this time and time again, but knowing who your target audience is critical when it comes to posting content on social media. One of the biggest mistakes that entrepreneurs tend to make is trying to talk to everyone on social media. My advice: Cut. It. Out. Now. You have to aim your content at a particular target. If you hit the right target, then you get the right results!
Where Are They Hangin' At?
Your target audience is not on all social media platforms. Sorry to burst your bubble… Here is a really great infographic that I found on socialmediadelivered.com, that gives a breakdown of which social media platform your target audience is actually hangin’ out on.
What Are You Talkin' About?
Listen, you have to make sure that your social media posts make sense! Like seriously chick… Don’t confuse your audience with a bunch of random posts about any and everything! Make sure you are consistent with your brand message… For example: If you are life coach, then you shouldn’t be sharing information about how to do graphic design. Or if you are a photographer, you shouldn’t be sharing posts on social media about how to buy the right the bundles of hair… I could go on and on, but I think you get my drift!
